1. What is the Certificate in Creative Arts all about?

This is a one-year comprehensive programme that will lay a foundation for every participant in concepts and practices of Creative Arts in contemporary churches with a special emphasis in Worship and Drama.

It will fuse together theology, music, worship, drama, media and technology to flesh out the message of the gospel into a contemporary, relevant package for today. The gospel can be proclaimed in many different ways. Hence the programme strives to train artistes to be contributing partners in the church.

This programme will enable participants to translate God’s creativity into their creativity and turn their Passion, Talent and Creativity into Skills that will bear Fruit in Ministry.

This certificate programme is foundational for all regular programmes in Creative Arts at TCA College.

2.Why was it introduced? What are its objectives?

This programme was introduced to train and equip Christians in the areas of creative arts. Worship is something that is very vital in the post-modern age and this programme will equip people from TCC, other churches and nations in these areas.

One thing to take note is that this is not a music school. The programme will not deal with the basics done in the many music schools that are in and around Singapore. Instead the focus is to equip people for ministry.

3.Who is it for and what are the pre-requisites?

It is for anyone who has a passion to serve the Lord in any of these areas – Singing, Music, Drama, Dance, Video, RGB, Sound, and Lighting. It is also for people who just want to know about Creative Arts and why things are done in a certain manner. There are no pre-requisites for this course as in the level of musical skills or knowledge. All that is needed is a passion and desire to grow in this area. In the future, specialized tracks will be launched with pre-requisites.
