TCA College began as a vision
of Rev. Dr. Naomi Dowdy, former Senior Pastor of Trinity Christian
Centre and Chancellor of the school, for the purpose of providing
ministerial training at the Bachelor of Theology degree and above
in order to promote the Gospel message and to prepare leaders for
churches and the Christian community.
In 1979, Trinity School of the Bible commenced
on a small scale. In 1983, formal classes were conducted
and the name of the school was changed to Theological Centre for
Asia.
In response to the needs of its community, the
Bachelor of Ministry was launched in 1990, along with its Diploma
in Theology and Bachelor of Theology degrees. In 1992, Theological Centre for Asia introduced
the Masters in Bible and Missions (currently named Master of Arts
in Intercultural Studies); in 1995 the Master of Divinity; in 2000
the Master of Arts in Ministry. In 2007, the Bachelor of Ministry
program was assimilated into the Bachelor of Theology program.
The Chinese Department was started in 1997 with
the Certificate in Ministry and Master of Arts in Ministry. The
Diploma of Theology and Bachelor of Theology were introduced in
1999; and the Bachelor of Ministry and Master of Divinity was launched
in 2005.
In 2006, Theological Centre for Asia began its
vision to become a multi-disciplinary College. The Institution
launched four Schools, namely:- School of Counselling, School of
Creative Arts, School of Leadership and School of Divinity. To
mark this expansion, the name was changed to TCA College.
