History

TCA College began as a vision of Rev. Dr. Naomi Dowdy, former Senior Pastor of Trinity Christian Centre and Chancellor of the college, for the purpose of providing ministerial training at the Bachelor of Theology degree and above in order to promote the Gospel message and to prepare leaders for churches and the Christian community.

In 1979, Trinity School of the Bible commenced her first class in 23 Adam Road. In 1983, formal classes were conducted and the name of the school was changed to Theological Centre for Asia.

In response to the needs of its community, the Bachelor of Ministry was launched in 1990, along with its Diploma in Theology and Bachelor of Theology degrees. In 1992, Theological Centre for Asia introduced the Masters in Bible and Missions (currently named Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies); in 1995 the Master of Divinity; in 2000 the Master of Arts in Ministry. In 2007, the Bachelor of Ministry program was assimilated into the Bachelor of Theology program.

The Chinese Department was started in 1997 with the Certificate in Ministry and Master of Arts in Ministry. The Diploma of Theology and Bachelor of Theology were introduced in 1999; and the Bachelor of Ministry and Master of Divinity was launched in 2005.

In 2005 Rev Dominic Yeo was appointed and installed as Vice-Chancellor.

2006 saw the appointment and installation of Rev Dr Wilson Teo as the President of TCA. The vision to become a multi-disciplinary College was birthed. TCA launched four Schools namely: School of Counselling, School of Creative Arts, School of Leadership and School of Divinity. To mark this expansion, the name was changed to TCA College.

In 2007 TCA moved to the new premises in Trinity@Paya Lebar, 249 Paya Lebar Road.

In July 2007, TCA College’s School of Leadership, in partnership with Azusa Pacific University (APU), began its programme: Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.

In 2008, TCA College started to offer University of Wales' validated degees in both undergraduate and graduate programmes. TCA College's academic standard was recognised and affirmed by international academic bodies as a result of this validation. This brings TCA College to a new height in offering internationally recognised, UK University validated degrees.

January 2011 saw the School of Counselling’s Post Graduate Diploma receiving official recognition from the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).  A Centre for Counselling was also started where clinical and professional counselling services were provided.
