TCA College has moved!
Students started the 3rd trimester in our new college premises at the brand spanking new complex of Trinity@Paya Lebar at 249 Paya Lebar Road. The move intensifies the exciting journey of faith for the college as it launches many new programmes this year. The new college premises comprises 16 classrooms of various sizes, 2 lecture theatres each for 250 people, a chapel for up to 1000 people, a library capacity for 100,000 volumes and wireless access for all students. In order to facilitate training for our counselling courses, there are now 8 counselling rooms available. All these facilities are the fulfilment of part of the vision borne by the College Board – transforming TCA College to a multi-disciplinary college that provides a holistic education for the training of effective leaders in both the Church and the market place.

TCA College Website (www.tca.edu.sg)
Besides the shift of our campus, you will notice the constant updating of information on our website with the latest events and programmes. It is our effort of providing up-to-date information to our alumni, students and visitors. You can download the online brochure of courses offered for the latest trimester or search for the required information of any programme of the college. For our Chinese Department, we have also started our Chinese website on http://www.tca.edu.sg/Chinese/. Don’t forget to visit our website to check on our latest exciting developments and to give us your feedback on the developments of the college.

School of Creative Arts (SCA)
We are thankful to the Lord for the many students who have undergone training and are now equipped with the skills and expertise in our SCA programme that started a year ago. It’s been exciting to see not just the current students signing up for the classes offered by the SCA, we are also seeing new students, both part-time and full-time from Singapore and overseas, joining us in our certificate programme. The robust response is a testament to the quality teaching provided by our qualified and experienced lecturers who are currently teaching in our SCA classes. If you are interested to be equipped in this area, do not hesitate to contact Paul David (pauldavid@tca.edu.sg) for more information.

School of Counselling (SOC)
SOC is also in the midst of recruiting our 2nd cohort of students for our Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling that will commence in January 2008. The programme is designed to train students who desire to become competent counsellors serving in the Body of Christ and the market place. Besides undergoing the academic rigour required in the programme, students are to complete 100 hours of internship before they can qualify to graduate. Please do not hesitate to contact Anita Chia (anitachia@tca.edu.sg) for more information on this programme.

We are mulling over plans to develop Chinese counselling programme and your feedback in this area is definitely needed to determine the decision of when to start it.

School of Divinity (SOD)
SOD, being the largest and oldest school in the college, is going through a major revamp of its curriculum so that students will continue to be given relevant education in serving the Body of Christ as full time and part time students. Given the large number of part time students in the college, the curriculum will ensure that students are given the best education that comes with international academic recognition without compromising on the need to produce effective ministers in all of our programmes. More information on the curriculum revamp will be announced in the coming months and the college will inform the students about an academic advising session to shed more light on the details.

(i) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theology Programme
The latest exciting development for the SOD is the launch of the PhD Programme in Theology, in partnership with the University of Wales (UoW), Bangor in UK. The first cohort of students completed their first doctoral seminar with Dr.Terry Larm in early August 2008 and they are now in the midst of writing their dissertation proposals for submission to UoW. We are now looking forward to having the second cohort of students to register for the programme by the end of October. If you have a Master’s degree in our Chinese programmes and meet the required academic standard in written English, you can also apply for the PhD programme. Please contact Dr. Shelly Li (shellyli@tca.edu.sg) if you are interested to know more information on the programme.

School of Leadership (SOL)
(i) Master of Arts in Organisational Leadership (MAOL)
In July 2007, we hosted the first cohort of students for the MAOL programme. This programme is a partnership with Azusa Pacific University (APU) with the intent to equip Asian leaders in Asia. It is also the college’s desire to see the raising of Asian leaders who are trained to teach leadership principles in the Body of Christ and the market place. You can read the details of what took place during the 2-week intensive modules with the Professors from APU in one of the attachments to this letter.

(ii) Doctor of Ministry (DMin) Programme
Besides the PhD programme that has been launched in the college, the second doctoral programme that will soon be launched will be our DMin programme with an emphasis in leadership. The 4-year, part time DMin programme is specially designed to cater to those who are greatly involved in church ministry and desire an internationally recognised doctoral degree without leaving the ministry. Furthermore, it is the first DMin of its kind to be launched in Singapore and conferred by the University of Wales, Bangor. The programme will have proven and experienced leaders such as John Kirkpatrick, Matt Rawlins, Peter Chao and John Ng as our teaching faculty for the coming modules in 2008. The registration has begun and the closing date is on the 31st March 2008. Please refer to our website for more details on this programme.

Final Words
As you have read the brief summary of all the exciting developments that are unveiling in the various schools of TCA College, we would like to invite you to visit our new premises or to talk to us so that we can assist you in your personal development.

Please keep us in your prayers as we seek for strategic partnerships with Chinese Universities for our Chinese programmes so as to allow for greater recognition of our degrees in this region. With the college expansions, we will be having new distinguished full time faculty with us and you will hear more about them in the coming months.

Please partner with us as we embark on this exciting journey to equip and train holistic Asian leaders and ministers for the Kingdom of God.
