School Retreat
4 April 2008

It is the time of the year for our annual retreat!

The Students' Council took us all to Bedok Reservoir Park this year for some challenging outdoor activities. We were blessed by good weather that day; we really need to thank the Lord for that because it rained heavily the day before and the day after our retreat, we were spared of the rain, praise the Lord!

We played "Jungle Scrabble" – a team building game organised by Forest Adventure at the Bedok Reservoir Park. Not only did we have fun, many of us stepped out of our comfort zone and successfully attempted some very challenging aerial courses we never thought we could do. We climbed trees, walked on planks 5 metres above ground, crawled through obstacles, and did “flying fox” 200 metres across the water. We also had lots of fun putting our heads together forming words to do with the environment from our alphabets “earned” from the games.

The day-retreat was topped off with a delicious dinner at the park.

We were “exposed to the elements” but who would have imagined that overcoming fear could give such a sense of accomplishment at the end of the games.

It was altogether a great time of fellowshipping and bonding for the students, faculty and admin staff.
