Admission requirements

The Candidate should have attained the following:-

  1. A bachelor degree in theology or religious studies.
  2. A TOEFL score of 560 or an IELTS score of 6.0 (or the equivalent).

Candidates who have obtained a bachelor degree in an unrelated discipline may be admitted upon satisfactory completion of certain academic deficiencies at undergraduate level.

Candidates without the relevant qualifications may be admitted provided they have significant, relevant ministry experience and successfully complete academic deficiencies at undergraduate level. In any case, TCA College must be fully satisfied that the candidate demonstrates ability to successfully complete the programme.

Programme aims • Provide students with an opportunity for specialization in the fields of theology and applied theology.
• Develop students who are able to think independently and reflect critically, biblically and theologically in the practice of ministry.
• Train and equip ministry practitioners and theologians to serve effectively in churches and Christian organizations in the modern context, whether as clergy or laity.
• Train and equip research-minded theologians and practitioners who can advance the study of theology.
• Provide a foundation for continued education
• Provide a stimulating and creative learning environment where students are encouraged to integrate theology, ministry and practical Christian living.

Curriculum

Part One
Part One consists of 6 taught modules. Students may exit with a Post-graduate Diploma in Theology upon successful completion of Part One.

Part Two
Part Two comprises a 20,000 word thesis on a subject area relevant to their pathway. Students must successfully complete Part One before being permitted to proceed to Part Two.

The student will first submit a working thesis proposal to the College for approval. Upon approval, the College will then appoint a supervisor to the student. The student then proceeds with research and writing of the thesis. Regular meetings should be planned and arranged with the supervisor. The finished thesis must be submitted to the College for examination within the agreed timeline.
