History

1979

Rev Dr Naomi Dowdy envisioned a place where formal ministerial training would be available to leaders dedicated to serving churches and communities here in Asia.

Out of that vision emerged Trinity School of the Bible, the first Pentecostal and Charismatic school to offer Bachelor of Theology and Master of Arts in Singapore.

1983

Renamed Theological Centre for Asia with an initial enrolment of 120 students.

Picture on left shows Trinity@Adam when it was just an old bungalow along 23 Adam Road. TCA's first classes were held there.

1988

Recognized by the Singapore Ministry of Education as a religious school.

1993

Received accreditation from the Asia Theological Association.

1994

Received accreditation from the Asia Pacific Theological Association.

1997

Launched a Chinese Department offering the Certificate in Ministry and Master of Arts in Ministry.

2000

Rev Dr Naomi Dowdy, the first President of the school, was appointed the Chancellor.

Rev Derek Tan was appointed the second President of the school.

2004

Received accreditation from the Asia Theological Association for the Chinese Department.

2005

Rev Dominic Yeo was appointed the Vice-Chancellor, and expanded the school’s vision from a theological seminary to a multi-disciplinary college.

2006

Rev Dr Wilson Teo was appointed the third President.

To become a multi-disciplinary college, the four schools were launched: School of Counseling, School of Creative Arts, School of Theology, and School of Leadership.

To mark this expansion, Theological Centre for Asia was renamed TCA College.

2007

Established partnerships with Azusa Pacific University, USA and University of Wales, UK.

Moved to a new and larger campus at Trinity@Paya Lebar.

2011

Received recognition from the Singapore Association for Counseling for the Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling.

Inaugurated our Centre for Counseling to provide clinical and professional counseling services.

2013

Received recognition from the Singapore Association for Counseling for the Master of Arts in Counseling.

2016

Offered our first online courses at undergraduate and graduate levels where students interact weekly on a learning management system.

2018

Rev Dominic Yeo assumed the role of Interim President.

Launched the online Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies (School of Theology, English Department).

Partnered with Life Pacific College, USA and launched the Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (School of Leadership).

2019

Rev Dr Dennis Lum was appointed the Fourth President.

Celebrated TCA College’s 40th Anniversary.

2023

Rev Gerald Tan was appointed the Vice-Chancellor.
