Testimonies

Paya Lebar Methodist Church, Singapore

Li Shalong

Over the past five years, I completed both the Master of Divinity and Master of Theology programs at TCA College. These five years were not only a time of gaining knowledge and academic training, but also a season of being equipped and shaped in life.

The faculty at TCA are experienced scholars with deep knowledge and strong academic credentials. More than that, they embody the heart and character of shepherds. In class, they encourage students to speak up, embrace diverse perspectives, and affirm students’ efforts. Academically, they are serious and committed, upholding high scholarly standards. In fellowship settings, they are warm and approachable, inspiring students’ faith and nurturing their spiritual growth. Through their words and actions, I witnessed the beauty of humility. Their affirmation and encouragement also helped grow my self-confidence. I hope to carry this same spiritual character into my own life, my family, and my church. Like them, I also want to offer support and affirmation to others, blessing and impacting more lives.

My ministry in church involves preaching and teaching. What I’ve learned at TCA has deepened my biblical understanding and broadened my spiritual vision. This growth in knowledge has strengthened my confidence in sharing and teaching, enabling me to lead my brothers and sisters not only in the right direction, but also into deeper understanding—so that we may better live out God’s will and become a blessing to the community.

As a Gen Z young person, building relationships has always been a major struggle and challenge for me. When I first entered TCA, I did not feel excited about future ministry; instead, I was anxious and avoidant. But my time at TCA helped me greatly in this area. Through small group fellowship, I gained a new perspective on building relationships. For me, the fellowship helped deepen my understanding of faith and of God. With the help of my teachers and classmates, I shifted from being passive in relationships to becoming someone who takes initiative—willing to connect with others and share Christ’s love. I now believe I have the confidence to face what used to be one of my greatest challenges.
