I've discovered that this journey has changed my life, as it has healed many of the relationships and traumas my clients and I have experienced. I can rest easy knowing that all of the pain, uncertainty, and anxiety served as a training ground for me to recognize how God's power was at work within and ultimately in the lives of my clients. I had to learn everything during my practicum, and half the struggle was convincing myself that I could manage these tasks despite all the evidence to the contrary. Hard work made up the other half. Being taught in class and eventually doing my practicum was my most profound and significant experience as a student. I give God the glory for everyone and everything!

I decided to study counseling because I was personally impacted by a counselor I had seen, and wanted to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to support others better too. TCA was an obvious choice for me as I sought to understand how spirituality and counseling intertwine, and at the same time receive strong clinical training. It is truly by the grace of God that I could complete this program, and I am deeply grateful for everyone who has helped me to grow throughout these four years.

Going through the counseling courses has allowed me to experience growth in my personal life as well as a social worker. The lecturers went the extra mile to help us make sense of the inner conflicts that we have as we go through the different courses. They care for our growth and not just about imparting knowledge to us. Though it has been a challenging 4 years, trying to juggle studies and life commitments, I am happy that I signed up for this program.

In the course of my study, I have found a deep connection with myself as I discover my being. The lecturers are veterans in the field of counseling and I am grateful for the openness and authentic sharing during their teaching. The richness is found not only in the modules themselves but the experiences of the lecturers and fieldwork that were tedious but enriching to my learning. I have grown and matured over the years of study with TCA and will continue to seek learning in the field of counseling.

I really enjoyed how TCA made the learning experience both practical and personal. It was a joy to learn alongside passionate faculty and classmates, and to see how our different life experiences shaped our learning takeaways. The counseling skills I learned at TCA have become foundational to how I support others and have better equipped me for ministry. Completing the MAC program has deepened my appreciation for how life’s difficulties and our faith intersect. My faith has been encouraged and strengthened through this learning experience.

I'm just so thankful and grateful to the Lord our God for leading me to sign up for TCA College's MA Counseling in August 2022. When "The Essential Counselor" textbook declared at the beginning of my counseling journey that I am the tool/instrument for change, I was dismayed and told the Lord, "I can't do this!" This is because every people-helping profession I know uses an instrument essentially, not themselves entirely. It has been a demanding and at times, a painful journey, yet meaningful and rewarding. Perhaps, the Lord has shaped me to be an iota like Him - to be His instrument of peace and love. If so, I would do this all over again!

It has been an amazing journey of learning. Grateful to the faculty who has taught and guided me tirelessly, and for classmates who are always there to support.

Thank God for leading me to TCA. I have gained much from the lectures and assignments. The care, concerns, and professionalism of our lecturers taught me how to be a professional counselor, adhering to SAC guidelines. Most importantly, how we can join God in this work to help our clients. Though I am not allowed to share Christ, I hope my clients will see Christ in me and make the decision to know Him personally!

Over the past 4-5 years, balancing full-time work with pursuing my part-time Master of Arts in Counseling at TCA has been a challenging yet deeply rewarding journey. Glory to God for His faithfulness and provision every step of the way. He strengthened me through doubts and exhaustion when I doubted myself. I have seen His hand in granting me strength and wisdom. As I am graduating, I am filled with gratitude and anticipation for how God will use me as a vessel to help others. Thanks to the faculty and my classmates at TCA!

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. With God’s help, I embarked on this learning journey, shaped and moulded by His guidance and strength. I am aware of the challenges and hardships that lie ahead, but I also look forward to the life-changing stories that Christ will unfold.

It has been an enriching journey for which I am ever so grateful. I want to thank God for empowering and sustaining me through challenging times, especially when I felt stretched and lost confidence in my ability to finish this race. I also want to thank my husband and children for being patiently supportive when I was caught up with coursework and absent from the home. I could not have done this without the love and prayers of my mother and siblings. All of you truly bless me beyond words. I could not have asked for better lecturers who gave tirelessly with much encouragement and inspiration. Last but not least, the beautiful friendships formed with my cohort. This journey of learning and giving continues as we pursue God's call to be a vessel of love and hope to those He brings to us.

I am grateful to TCA College, the faculty and my classmates for journeying with me over the past 3.5 years. It has been enriching and I have grown to be in touch with my feelings. I hope to contribute to the growth and empowerment of other people with the counseling skills that I have gained.

My time at TCA College has been enjoyable and meaningful. It has been a journey of growth, both personally and spiritually. The lecturers not only taught us valuable knowledge but also shared their wisdom and personal experiences. They showed us how to integrate faith into counseling. I’m grateful for the supportive community of classmates and the friendships forged along the way. I've seen how God has worked in our lives whether in joys and struggles. The lessons and experiences I've gained have impacted my work and life, equipping me to serve others more effectively while growing in my relationship with Christ.

"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to bless you” declares the Lord, “plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. Heeding God's plan for me to take up the MAC in TCA College has been arduous but rewarding and life-changing. My friends and teachers in the college are a blessing and the constant support I receive from my family has been heartwarming. This 4-year journey to prepare me as counselor has encapsulated God's love for me and beyond. The Lord has blessed me to bless others. May His name be glorified.
